By David A. Lunde by way of The Radio Equalizer

Janeane Garofalo wears what appears to be a condom on her head while while broadcsting on "The Majority Report":
Padded Room Award W/ Special Guest Katherine Harris
Sam Seder talks with Special Guest "Katherine Harris" (Janeane Garofalo) about this weeks "Padded Room Award" nominees Bill O'Reilly and Mark Smith

Rhodes calls Hillary Clinton a whore; Garofalo defends Rhodes
Another meltdown at the Air America radio network: remarks by former and present talk show hosts have ignited a firestorm of controversy. Randi Rhodes called Hillary Clinton "a big fucking whore" in an off-air comment and Air America suspended Rhodes in response. This isn't the first time Rhodes has taken on a feminist heavyweight: she's gone after Oprah on her radio show.
Janeane Garofalo phoned in to Rhodes' fill-in, Sam "Scumbag" Seder, and castigated Air America's management as "boneheaded" and "weak" ("Janeane Garofalo sticks up for Randi Rhodes") Garofalo dated herself as so last century with a Mary Pickford reference. Apparently Janeane knew Mary Pickford, and Randi Rhodes is no Mary Pickford.
Right wing blogs that cover talk radio are all over this white-hot controversy like a cheap suit.
The Radio Equalizer:
Garofalo Uses Network Airwaves To Slam Air America
And what's especially odd here is that Garofalo didn't exactly come across as a team player during her spotty tenure at the network, so why is she coming out of the woodwork now? Your Radio Equalizer won't pretend to understand Janeane's notoriously-erratic behavior.
[We do: it's a toxic cocktail of Vicodin, alcohol, Attention Addiction and loneliness.]
BoreAmerica:
Janeane Garofalo gloms onto Randi Rhodes suspension
Does this mean the end of Garofalo's reluctance to criticize Hillary Clinton despite Hillary's support for the Iraq War and having thrown gays under the bus, calling gay marriage a state's rights issue (OK, OK, I stole that line from Mike Gravel), based on a toxic cocktail of identity politics and pseudo-feminism?
Will Janeane's PC friends abandon her now that she has taken to ridiculing people with speech impediments? Has she gotten her former radio sidekick Seder into hot water at Air America?
Will creepy talker Rachel "Mad Cow" Maddow take time out from ridiculing George W. Bush for wearing a dress and whining about Republicans who call her a "cross-dressing lesbian" to take a courageous stand against ad hominem attacks? Stay tuned.
With two "progressive" talkers enjoying an unprecedented wave of publicity in recent days, fishy signs of stunt-dom have begun to emerge. How did we not see this days earlier?
Last week's biggie was the headline- generating suspension of Randi Rhodes, a result of having called Hillary Clinton a "big f***ing whore" during an affiliate- sponsored event.
Since then, there has been no official word on Randi's fate, other than having been given the week off. But that nagging feeling that this is a contrived controversy is only growing stronger...
For one thing, allowing former Air America personality Janeane Garofalo to phone in and savagely attack management during Randi's timeslot is not something we would normally expect when a host has been suspended. It's unlikely her fill-in would have taken her call had he not felt safe in doing so.
I won't miss episodes like the one in which liberal radio personality Randi Rhodes called Clinton a "big [expletive] whore" and said the same about former vice presidential nominee Geraldine Ferraro. Rhodes was appearing at an event sponsored by a San Francisco radio station, before an audience of appreciative Obama supporters -- one of whom had promoted the evening on the presumptive Democratic nominee's official campaign Web site.

Like fine, aged battery acid, Air America Radio has released an "interview" (i.e., screed) with troubled ex-cutie Janeane Garofalo which was apparently conducted while she was still screeching on their network.
While it's difficult to put an exact date on it, in the clip she's got her blonde, slightly-attractive-lesbian look and it looks like she has less tattoos than she has now, so I assume it's at least a couple years old.
Her Gandhi-esque comments begin with complaints about "crackers" and how much of the U.S. is a "redneck nation" and then she discusses how some in the media are "geishas" who "service" the president.
I stopped watching after a bit when it got too depressing. She's just a sweet, wholesome, smart, lovable girl-next-door... gone horribly, pathetically wrong.
